This Year’s Vegetable Garden

Monday, May 5th, 2014
This years Veggie Garden!

This years Veggie Garden!

I know this has nothing to do with Heating or Air Conditioning but here’s this year’s edition of my vegetable garden! My bean plants are about 3 inches tall, my cucumber plants still have only the 2 leaves but there are enough I’ll have to thin them. I have 6 tomato plants, 2 pepper plants and 1 zucchini (every gardener knows how one good zucchini plant can produce!!!) I also got 12 rutabaga plants…we’ll see how they do. Then I have about 12 rows of corn!

In the picture you can see the milk crates. That’s my composter. Pinterest project!

The pool ladder you see is to give the watermelon and canteloupe something to grow on. I have leftover fence to make the shelves. I also have pots of lavender and chives.

Last years garden was a bust, hopefully, 2014 garden is a major success! I’ll keep you posted!

Troubleshooting Your AC System After a Storm

Monday, April 28th, 2014

I wanted to get the pictures of the pretty flowers up on the web before we spend the next 3 days under a flood watch with chances of bad weather.

If you find after we have these storms that your AC isn’t working.

1.  Check your breaker outside by the AC unit
2.  Check your circuit inside your breaker panel.
3.  Shut if off at the thermostat. Let it sit off for about 5 minutes. Then turn it back on. This might cause it to reset and start working.

If this troubleshooting doesn’t work, call us. And, if you smell any burning whatsoever, leave it off and call us immediately at 770-736-5207.

Simple Facts about Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Friday, November 22nd, 2013

I know we have carbon monoxide detectors installed. I work at Wall Heating and Air Conditioning. My HVAC/furnaces are checked for safety every six months like a good Club member. However, we can never be too safe for our family. We have one on each of our floors. In September, my CO detector started squealing every 60 seconds at 1:00 in the morning…Oh yes, that was very convenient. I was so lazy I covered my head and tried to drown out the noise until I got up in the morning…I knew that a short squeal means that the batteries needed to be changed. So I got up the next morning and changed the batteries. It kept squealing then I saw a sticker inside my alarm that said after 5 years to replace the CO detector. I didn’t know they had a life span.

Since then we have had a couple of our Club members saying theirs was going off and their furnaces weren’t that old. I had forgotten about the CO detector lifespan until Karen asked how old the CO detectors were. We found that their CO detectors had reached their lifespan.

If your gas furnace is over 8 years old and you haven’t had service, please be sure you have us come out and do a thorough inspection to be sure your furnace is safe!

Remember the holiday’s are fast approaching and we want to help ensure that they are as safe as we can help make them for you.
